My review is based on "MY" business dealings with Right Choice Pools & Spa! They were and are a disgrace to the pool business. I tried desperately to get a fair deal with them, but they are liars, crooks and bullies!!!!!! If you want a "Fair Deal" have a lawyer review the contract and put in your protections!!!!! This company took over five months to build our pool. They use every excuse to "not" show up at the site that they can. Their work crew damaged my home with the digging machine by hitting the stucco and ripping off my downspout and hid behind the contract, so make them take that out of the contract because after $48,000.00 later two hundred dollars of damage! They should have repaired it!!!!! They installed "Decking" that is so high that I can no longer install my Storm Shutters which I didn't realize until after the inspections the Palm Beach County Inspectord should have picked up on, but they are another story!!!!! They refuse to make good on anything that goes wrong!!!!!! The owner and wife come off as nice people and develope a friendly atmosphere, but once you're in their WEB!!! They screw you Six Days to Sunday!!!!! The Pool Light has issues with tripping the breaker in the box "THEY" installed and the owner blamed my "New Home" electricity, but further review shows his guy installed the wrong breaker and he refuses to fix the problem!!!!! Instead he had workers install two Pool Pump Motors that were not the problem and he reduced my Pool Pump Power from a Four Stage to a Three Stage and refuses to return my "Original Pump"!!!!! THROUGH THE ENTIRE POOL INSTALLATION IT WAS "HIS WAY" BECAUSE HE PROTECTS HIS HORRIBLE WORK BEHIND WHAT HE CALLS "HIS CLEVER CONTRACT THAT HE DEVISED" TO COVER "ANYTHING THAT HE IS RESPONSIBLE FOR"!!!!!! BECAUSE YOU WOULD NEED A LAWYER TO LOCK HIM INTO A CONTRACT HE WILL NEVER SIGN!!!!! MY OPINION BASED ON MY VERY BAD DEALINGS WITH THIS COMPANY, I WOULD LOOK ELSEWHERE!! PROBLEMS ARE ON-GOING A YEAR LATER!!!!!! NOT NICE PEOPLE NOR "FAIR & HONEST!!!!!!

I am also by default a Right Choice Pools victim. We paid them tens of thousands of dollars and after 23 months we had to fire them and was left with a bare pool shell! The owner just takes your money and does not supervise, the workers are horrorable and even one confirmed was a ex convicts, another we demanded they kick off our property due to anger issues and profanity, they cant pass one inspection for 5 months they offer financial incentives in the hundreds for social media post in order to inflate star ratings and bury negative posts, the constantly failed inspections and tore our pool shell trying to fix plumbing the inspectors flagged. We posted all the pictures (only a picture of many here) and online documents proving our family nightmare on RCP facebook and now the page is inactive and not found! We are also joining others recently suing Right Choice pools. They just lost a lawsuit for about $70,000 to Mr. Bentacourt in Miami Dade. We highly suggest you check all right choice pools reviews if you dont want to suffer at the hands of this company.

Where do I start? I’m currently suing RCP for the over $17k in damages they caused to my property while building my pool. Dealing with Right Choice Pools (I like to say wrong choice pools) was an absolute nightmare. Matt the “owner” runs an unorganized, unprofessional, sloppy and dishonest business. From the first day of construction there were issues. Day one his crew ran over my side fence with their excavator, piled rock on top of the fence in the front of my property causing it to be replaced. Matt said per their contract that their negligent behavior should be overlooked. It only got worse from there… -they didn’t cut the pile caps to correctly tie in the rebar (Matt somehow said this was my fault) -they forgot to install my bubbler plumbing after the pool was poured so they had to jackhammer my sun deck -they destroyed my existing house plumbing to run their lines.(again somehow my fault) -there were several pool leaks after completion that caused major repairs to pavers and artificial turf. I don’t have enough time to list all of the issues I had and the ridiculous remarks Matt would make to try and diminish their unprofessionalism. I wouldn’t recommend this company to my enemy. Run don’t walk away. Please do your research before hiring them. You’ll see multiple law suits and costumer issues similar to mine.

November will be 2 years since dealing with right Choice Pools. Matt is very combative, does not over see his workers, there is no on site supervision and as a result, we now have a pool that possibly has a leak. Repeatedly reported this issue to Matt and his wife and keep getting the same response "someone must be tampering with the valve"! No one has touched anything, We never received a tutorial on how to heat our spa, no app to install on how to control the pool lighting, our pavers are not completed, the price kept changing and Right Choice was paid in FULL. We are currently still fighting with Matt for him to fix our pool and yard! Excuses on top of excuses, lack of communication and unprofessional. Right choice does not take responsibility for wrong doing or mishaps..instead Matt argues back with PAYING CUSTOMERS! Overall experience was HORRIBLE and I would NEVER recommend this company!!!!! Our pool is losing water, the water level is on the 2nd step, I've been filling the pool with water every 4 days and now my water bill is extremely high! Waiting on Matt to address the issue is Like waiting on Covid to come to an end!! 2 years with no yard, could not even have a pool party for my sons birthday last week... I wish they could take back their pool, put back our grass and we start all over again but with a reliable company!!!!!!

Matt the owner likes facts, well here are some. We have been trying to get our pool finished for almost 18 months. Finally, in December they signed a notarized document committing to completing the pool by 1/26/2018 – still not done. They send emails telling us they are coming out, they send emails saying Matt is coming out – they don’t. We still have a pool that is in serious need of repair. They committed to “all pool decking/pavers will be repaired” per the signed agreement and they now have decided on their own that only 25 new pavers will be used. The have not even dealt with the issue of cuts into our coping, their awful tile guy used a saw to cut into the bricks while they were on top of the coping and now we have cuts into our coping. We still have trash all over our backyard although line 2 of the agreement is “all trash will be removed from the site (pool & deck related only).” I do not know how much Christopher Barrass supervises Matt (his brother), although Christopher is the licensee of the company; I know if it is anything like the supervision the workers have when they come here, it is none. The best part is when you do complain, you get an email like this back from them: “There are people that are starving all over the world, people are being beheaded, children are being diagnosed with cancer & your worried about your custom swimming pool.”

Should rename the company "Wrong Choice Pools". This is the first time I have ever written a review, and I feel compelled to because of how bad this company is. First and Foremost, it took them 20 months to complete a normal 90-linear foot pool. Not only did it take them almost 2 years, we paid them for the job but they never paid their sub-contractors, so we had a lien on our property. We ended up just paying the sub-contractors so we wouldn't have to deal with Wrong Choice Pools. Imagine that?! NEXT - they literally destroyed our sprinkler system and denied doing it. Cut the pipes, ran everything over, etc. We had to pay another 7k for someone to repair our system and dig another well. They acted like someone broke in our back yard and destroyed it when they were the only ones going back there. Of course the owner denied any wrong doing... Our pool is now 2 month done - and our pavers are falling apart and there is a leak in the pool (go figure). We are getting quotes to get it fixed because they won't honor the warranty (or just respond to our calls and emails). Most importantly - the owner, Matt, is a fraud and a liar and will just argue with you no matter what. He will promise the world and deliver a a very substandard product that you will end up having to redo and constantly fix. He will never stand by his work and will blame everyone else in the county. He needs to learn how to be a business owner and own up to his company faults. THIS IS A WARNING - DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THEM!

This is the worst company ever. Matt screams at customers. Nancy is no better. It took them more than a year to complete the pool. They still have not completed the pool. They did not do the back fill. Left wires exposed. We had to do is ourselves. They don't clean up or pick up after themselves. We had to get rid of the left ove sand and soils. They ruined the yard and we had pavers in front of the yard for several months before they could do anything. The left over pavers they left them infront of the house We got into trouble with our home owners association several times because of their negligence. After the pool was filled with water they never came to treat the pool. They finally sent someone who was unqualified and did a terrible job. We had to hire somebody to treat the pool, buy new filter cartridge and service the equipmemt to have everything operational They promised to teach us how to take care of our pool when it was complete . lt was fake promises Working with Right choice pools was a night mare They are only on time to pick up pay checks. This is a terrible company they should not be allowed to be in business We signed a contract 2018 We had to have a cabana bathroom added to the house. Construction was completed June 2019 They did not break ground until January 2020 By February 2021 today the pool is not complete. This company is a nightmare. They are a disgrace. They are a nightmare They are disorganised. They left hand does not know where the right is.

My husband, Bob Davies, and I have endured a two-year ordeal with Matt Barrass and his company, Right Choice Pools. Yesterday they canceled an appointment to fix the leak in the bottom drain that it took us a year and a formal complaint to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation to get. This is business as usual for RCP We have records of countless dates that they canceled during the 13 months it took to complete our small pool. There is always some excuse that blames the weather or someone else for the delays. Keep in mind that he makes big claims about his warranty, but he wouldn't answer the phone from us for 10 months. We had to pay $300 to a leak detection company to confirm where the leak is located. This is the guy who touts his friendly, professional, responsible family business. He will not respond.. Last spring he "accidentally" answered the phone and immediately said, "Can I call you right back?" when he heard it was my husband on the line. Of course, he didn't and wouldn't answer any calls since then. It took 4 months from the date we signed the contract in June, 2015, until they finally dug the hole on Oct. 13, 2015. They canceled the dig 3 times. Then they misread the plans and dug the hole one foot too deep, at ground level rather than accounting for the one-foot rise above ground. They fabricated the steel at ground level and had to retro-fit the one-foot wall of the pool above ground. Then they poured the Gunite into the too-deep hole BEFORE the plumbing was in. After jackhammering out the thick Gunite in the bottom of the pool for the drain, we had to fight to get the bottom raised at least 6 inches as well as the too-deep jets. We would have been sitting so far down in the pool that we'd be looking at the wall of the pool and not the lake and patio. There was no supervisor, ever, other than the same worker who repeatedly made huge mistakes. Matt told us that he supervised by FaceTime with his workers. The pool was dug in Oct., 2015 and finally had water in it by the end of July, 2016. It is so deep that I have to stand on my tiptoes to keep my mouth out of the water. I am 5'1" and the pool was planned to be 4' deep. It came out 4'7", which is significantly deeper than the engineered plans. There was no Marcus or anyone else to supervise this job. Matt's line is "there are always two sides to every story", and his side is full of excuses. He would love to criticize us, but we have the facts and dates documented and provided to the inspector who is investigating the case. Matt's brother, Chris Barrass, is the license holder for his construction company, and Matt uses it for his pool company. We have never met or seen Chris. If you are reading this before you sign with RCP, think long and hard and read the entire back of the contract. It is all one-sided in their favor. Do not believe the "guarantee" of $1,000 if they don't finish in a specified number of days, because it "won't happen", as Matt said to us.

Unfortunately, my experience with Right Choice pools was very similar and mirrors most all experiences of the issues with negative comments. RCP takes your money and does very poor work, they do a little bit occasionally to make you think they are progressing and feed you countless excuses. They are obviously very dishonest also from our experience, have unlimited reasons why they are not progressing and in my view extremely disorganized except for the speed they take our money and give little to unacceptable service. It was so horrendous that we had to finally fire them after countless months, meetings, emails, failed inspections that were not addressed in a timely manner, horrible work and months of phone calls pleading to have them move forward. All we wanted was our family dream pool which we waited years and paid for over and beyond. This is our experience with Right Choice Pools and our opinion but do recommend you do your due diligence on this pool company. Thank goodness for this community and our freedom to air our experience freely! RESPONSE TO OWNER.... Are you denying the Andres Cabo post here?? Are you denying taking over $100,000 from my Dad and Mom?? Are you denying after almost 2 years! leaving my family with a empty pool shell not per the plans, bad plumbing and no grotto? Are you claiming countless negative reviews are all fake? This is not 2 sides these are facts and that is all people need to see along with 3 lawsuits in Broward county and Miami Dade within about 6 months, not to mention that your contract calls for arbitration that are not in public view. That's all people need to know! UPDATE.. RCP RECENTLY REMOVED HIS POST AFTER MY RESPONSE TO RCP OWNER'S POST. RCP POSTED, CLAIMING I TOO WAS A FAKE REVIEW. His tactics are dirty and people are not as naïve RCP believes!

1000 PERCENT REAL PERSON AND VICTIM AS WELL! LOVE FREEDOM OF SPEECH AND WONT BE INTIMIDATED! All people need to do is research your company in clerks of courts and online. In our experience with Right Choice Pools is "Wrong" choice. In my view and opinion since we have lived it! Our experience with Right Choice pools was a complete disaster. Please do you due diligence and avoid the nightmares and years of conflict with this pool company. I suggest you do research RCP on the internet and reviews here on Google and others, and check public online records for lawsuits recent in Broward County FL, and on ongoing currently in Miami Dade County. Good luck google members and wishing you all the best on your pool project.

We had a very disappointing experience with this pool company. Initially, they were responsive and seemed reliable, but after we paid the deposit and they secured us as customers, that changed completely. First, the job took two years to complete, and it became a hassle to get them to honor the contract. Now, we have discovered that the pool is leaking and the water heater is not working. We have called and messaged them numerous times, but they do not respond. It is incredibly frustrating. I hope they can improve their customer service and communication; otherwise, I cannot recommend them based on my experience.

We are writing to report many unethical practices and situations having taken place by our contracted pool company Right Choice Pools & Spas On June 3, 2020 we went into written contract with RCP to build our pool. Both Mr. Barrass and his wife were eager for us to sign and quite nice and what seemed to be decent individuals at the time of signing. We provided them a deposit in order to secure our contract. Due to rain our pool start date (dig day) was delayed Until November 2nd, 2020 and our project not completed until October 2021. There were a number of issues we encountered with this company which I will list below: There were many non rain days on which the pool build could have started prior to November yet there was always an excuse as to why they could not start our project after receiving their deposit. We were verbally abused via profanities by Mr. Barrass for simply asking questions regarding our project which is completely unethical, unprofessional and completely uncalled for. We were told to provide them portions of payments whenever they came on site to do work and they never completed what was to be done for those portions of payments in its entirety. Workers damaged our property. Our newly painted exterior was left with marks, greasy/muddy hand prints and dirt, our neighbors yard was destroyed, our gutters hit and damaged by their workers negligence and trash left on our property, all this was brought up to Mr Barrass who stated that they are not liable for damages made to our property by their workers. They caused damage to our driveway by leaving metal red iron bars which we asked upon delivery to be removed and placed on the grass before rusting from the rain and that was never done resulting in said damage that we stated would take place if not moved. They ignored our request bad now we have rust stains on our driveway. Driveway mark damage was also incurred due to the Bob cat bucket scraping our driveway. Raw nails were left about the grounds and no barriers were sturdily placed in order to prevent anyone from falling or getting hurt on the pool build site. Very hazardous situations for a residence, especially one with young children. No communication was made about changes made to the project plans and fees were charged to us for things not agreed upon or discussed. RCP did not show up to do any work on site for months, delaying our project even having been paid over 90% of the job payments. A lawyer had to be obtained in order to get RCP to comply and finish the project once paid Since receiving first deposit, Mr. Barrass (owner) never once set foot back at our property to go over necessary discussions re the project. Project was delayed and not complete until October of 2021 Subcontractors on the job reported that they were not being paid by RCP Left rain water to fill our pool and when asked to come drain it they left it that way saying they wont come out until they are going to complete the project. This caused mosquito issues and we had to purchase a pump on our own to drain the pool. Once the pool was finished there was no instruction provided other than to brush the pool every day for 30 days. We were not instructed on how tooperate the pool system. Another company had to walk us through how to adjust settings on the pool and have things run efficiently.

Richard Phillipps

We have had an incredibly difficult time in just about every way imaginable. We signed our contract in October 2021 and we had a pool in December 2023. RCP will say that weather and supply chain are to blame but we had multiple neighbors who had pools done in half the time and they had the same weather and economy to work in.
Aside from the delays, the customer experience is truly the worst we have ever dealt with. Aggressive, confrontational and unapologetic.
There were MASSIVE up charges versus the original estimate. RCP will say they were all fair charges but when the cost to dig the hole and haul away materials more than doubles, I have to wonder about the estimating skill. All in, we spent about 50% more on the total job than the original quote was written at.
From a quality standpoint the pool is OK but there are multiple issues. The skimmer still does not work and after six weeks of begging someone to look at it we are left to our own devices. The pool was supposed to be exactly the height of our dock but was built 2 inches higher, so there is a slope in the decking to go down towards the doc. The deck jets were installed asymmetrically which looks bad.
We have done major renovations and home builds and always enjoyed awesome relationships. You will see my others reviews include glowing comments about contractors. This is the one terrible experience we have had with a contractor. I have no doubt that a response will be posted below with a litany of excuses and perhaps even blaming me for the poor relationship. I just encourage anyone reading this to look at all the reviews and decide if this is a company you want to make a big investment with.

G Shapiro

BEWARE!! love how they try and cover up the reviews with phony ones to cover up the real ones. I agree with everyone. 2 years later and still no finished pool. Owner is very very combative and will yell at you in the phone if you ask him questions. Absolutly zero supervision. Worker all just threw there trash in the shell of pool. Did not take all the dirt they dug up. Tried to spread it out and now all the water runs on the deck. Better off taking a shovel and digging a hole and filling it.

B Ferguson

Poor experience very poor experience.
By Jennifer storm and Matthew the owner.
The company wasn't very good, They gave a price then kept changing the price even though the scoop of work didn't change.
I was not impressed they didn't seem to me to have enough knowledge with permitting and pool building based upon my experience I would not recommend this company at all.

As part of our pool bidding process we received a quote from Right Choice Pools & spas. Derrick did a good job in designing but their techniques were very pushy and turned us off. I let them know they were the first company to come out and we were getting 3 bids. This did not stop them from trying to pressure us into signing. While at our kitchen table Derrick called his boss over 10 times in a row until he answered to "try and see if he could help us on the price." He was able to help out but it was only good for that day. When he left he was very helpful in comparing his quote to his competitors. When we got down to the final decision he was pushy again saying this price is only good until this date which turned us off even more. I have been in sales for 15 years and a top rep at every company I work for and this method never works. I am sure they would have probably done a good job on the pool but with all the shady techniques during negotiation I could not trust them.

YET ANOTHER LAWSUIT IN PALM BEACH 2018! UPDATE..RCP BROUGHT BACK THEIR MAIN FACEBOOK (Right Choice Pools & Spas, Inc.) FOR SOME REASON RECENTLY, TAKE A LOOK FOR ALL DOCUMENTS AND PICTURES. UPDATE 12/13/17...another lawsuit from another victim in Broward County Herasme vs Barrass and Right Choice Pools case CACE17022438. Several this year 2017! I suggest all Right Choice Pools & spas victims post legitimate grievances here on google for the benefit of all google users and community. Google Right Choice pools reviews if you value your time, peace and hard-earned money..... In May 2015, I hired Right Choice Pools to construct a luxury pool and grotto. The contract specified that the project was to be completed 18 WEEKS from the start of excavation. I was told then by RCP that I would receive a discount if I posted a positive review online (before the pool was completed). After close to 2 YEARS, my pool was still not complete, and the work that was done had multiple defects, was not compliant with plans, and failed numerous inspections.
After dealing with this nightmare for nearly 2 years and after trying to be flexible just to get this project done, I was finally forced to terminate my contract and hire another company to correct and finish the job, , and this is after we have already paid RCP over $100,000. Basically my family was left with a bare pool shell, incomplete water tile, coping and bad plumbing. The new company we hired had to tear out most of the plumbing, passed 100% of inspections the first time, and finished the pool and grotto with waterfall and slide in a few short months. We have been forced to file a lawsuit in Miami Dade county FL over this dispute. In my experience, the owner, uses every excuse in the book to justify delays and defects in his performance. I am not the only one to have this experience. I have read numerous reviews/complaints posted by other victims of this company with similar situations. I have also read RCP responses to them, and have seen how he likes to claim the bad reviews are either fake and written by competitors, or that the person is lying. AND SINCE POSITIVE REVIEWS CAN EASILY BE FAKED, let me share with you some FACTS WHICH CAN BE VERIFIED ABOUT THIS COMPANY AND ITS OWNER
1.In addition to my lawsuit (Public record Case # CACE17019536), RCP has had multiple other lawsuits filed against it, in all 3 south Florida counties. In the most recent case in Miami , RCP was ordered to pay over $46,000 plus interest for damages, in addition to reimbursing the Plaintiff for $20,000 in attorney's fees and $2,000 in administrative costs. Another case settled for $23,000, and another reached aconfidential settlement. This can be confirmed by going to the clerk of courts website in each county (Miami, Broward and Palm Beach) and searching under Right Choice Pools. You can click on the links and read the complaints/details.
2. Several years prior to opening RCP, Owner was fined and penalized $5,000.00 by the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation for engaging in unlicensed contracting (Case No. 97-09811). Matt is still not a licensed contractor and operates RCP under his brothers license.
3.Prior to opening RCP, Owner worked as General/Regional Manager for Nationwide Pools, a company that the Attorney General filed charges against and froze the assets of NATIONWIDE POOLS. Anyone can google Nationwide Pools. The owner has responded to people complaining about the company, and he identifies himself as the General/Regional Manager and denies any wrong-doing on the company's behalf. Also, if you do a search on the Broward County Clerk of Courts website, you will find a lawsuit where Nationwide Pools sued RCP owner. Google community please do your research on this company for your peace of mind and money. Just one example of RCP work, our spa should be a circle per plans and the spa bench is the spa shape and looks like a fried egg. RCP cant even place the spa drain in the center.

IF YOU RELISH YOUR FAMILY MONEY AND TIME I WOULD DO MY RESEARCH AND AVOID THIS COMPANY.

Worst Pool company in the history of pool companies is south Florida. This guy is the devil. He constructed a pool and spa at my home and it was nothing but issues from the beginning of the construction process to the end. He is a thief and cannot deliver on the demands that he was hired to do. He and his entire team and unprofessional and have no idea what they are doing constructively. They are just feeling their way out. Until this day I have not resolved all the issues with their pool and spa project. They themselves who built were not able to find and correct the problems. When building a pool this would be the wrong choice if you fire them, they only talk a good talk. Worst experience ever

K Wilson

I signed a contract with right choice pools in Nov 2021. it is still not completed, numerous excuses during this time for taking up to now, 02/18/2025, over 3 years to complete. The pavers installed on the deck are now loose, many have completely come out when weeding. No badmouthing just facts here. If your in the market for a pool construction and to be completed in reasonable time, Right Choice Pools are not the company you want to go with. If it were possible to leave a negative star rating, I would.

Steven

I am over 2 years in to a SPA project with this company. A SPA not a POOL. like other reviews i see here my SPA is still not completed. I don't trust this company. i have countless emails telling me they would be sending techs on site and then consistent no shows.

I am out all my money with a SPA that I don't know how to operate and that doesn't have a final inspection passed as of yet.

Matt has yelled argued with me and continued to place blame for the issues on everyone else except himself.

Covid , Suppliers , Subs , Weather , Inspectors and myself.

As owner of the company the buck as they say should stop with him. the customer service this company provides is horrific. I have had to involve an attorney as the level of yelling and excuses which come from Matt are not normal for ANY type of business owner. I am frustrated beyond tears and wish i never hired this company to do this project.

Nightmare on this pool build. My review will be consistent with the majority of other reviews. The best part of this company is the office staff. They were responsive and professional unlike it's owner.Great employees. All field work is subcontracted out. Company has no work site supervisor to ensure work is being completed top quality. Matt oversees work via pictures and video. I made it a point to be home during each phase of the job. When I pointed out ongoing issues Matt would get defensive and argumentative. Be prepared to argue.
Most importantly is their contract you basically are giving up your rights to your yard. They require a payment before each phase begins. If that phase has a problem you're money is in his hands. Then to correct the problem he will tell you it's a warranty issue. Without the build being completed, go figure.
I had problems in each phase of build many of those problems could've been avoided if they had a company representative on site or after the phase was completed.
I could on with many other issues bottom line go with another company and avoid headaches and heartburn.

Wrong choice pools!

If you are in the market for a pool stay clear away from Right Choice Pools (better referred to as Wrong choice pools). This company is nothing but a scam. They sell you a great product by using great sales techniques. However, the contract is very one sided. The only time (and that's a guarantee) you will see the owner Matt and his wife is when you choose your options. After that it's all e-mails (with a bunch of excuses of why they can't come out). There will never be a supervisor on site while the work is being performed by sub contractors. The only time you will see anyone from Wrong Choice Pools is when it's draw time (to pick up a check). However, I had conversations with several of the subcontractors who have come to my house (who dislike Matt), they tell me that Matt would send them to the sites (during a new draw, new phase) with no material on site just to say they are starting another phase of the project. This tactic is used to collect the money for the next phase of the project. The contractors know they are not going to start that phase because they are fully aware that the materials are not on site. This is a tactic that Matt uses to get paid and not deliver. They will eventually arrive to do the work as soon as Matt orders the materials. Which he should've ordered in advance (after your selection and addition deposit). So basically the delays are enormous. They use you money to start other jobs. But they claim they don't. The subcontractors also said that they take pictures and videos of work being performed to send to Matt. That's the way Matt supervises. They also said when they contact Matt via FaceTime he's normally in bed. He basically never goes to any of the job sites. The contractors are solid because they dislike Matt and have empathy for the homeowners and are very apologetic (unfortunately it's beyond their control). However, they did say, if other jobs come forward with other pool companies they take them because the pay is higher and the possibility of getting paid is greater. They also advised me that sub contractors hate to work for Matt and would take other jobs to avoid dealing with a very argumentative man (in Matt). That's probably why it takes forever to get people to the job site. His in house workers are horrible at best (zero experience). A lot of hidden fees (so watch out). Matt is very argumentative and will belittle you when you have a complaint. He treats people like garbage! Very disrespectful man. Read the contract or have your attorney look over it. Or better yet DO NOT GO WITH THIS COMPANY!! Look at the reviews. The reviews don't lie except for the ones he has his friends and family post. But look at the bad reviews. They all have the similar complaint. If you want my opinion, go with the larger companies like Van Kirk, Pool builders and ESSIG. You will pay a bit more but you wont have an issue if you need something fixed. Don't fall for the warranty sales pitch (Matt will never honor the warranty). You will just be repairing the problems with your own money.Wrong choice pools was also featured on "Help me Howard." That alone sums up his work product.

Not impressed this company gave me a price then moved further along with the job and kept changing the price as they go when the scope of work never changed totally a scam based upon my experience and opinion

Buyer beware! Worst pool contractor ever! After almost a year, pool is still under construction! Lost tens of thousands of $$$! How are they still in business?!

Now that my emotions are not involved and I can breathe from the nightmare this pool company put me through, all I am going to say is this. PLEASE do a lot of homework and interview many contractors before choosing a pool company. Use a pool company who actually has employees, and not one who hires out the work. Right Choice Pools hired out all the work that was done on my pool, and unfortunately, they have no control over these contractors, and much of the work had to be redone. My pool took 18 months to complete, and I finally had to finish it with another pool company.

This business is a joke . They have no clue how to speak with clients. Delay after delay . I ordered a 10x10 inground spa almost 7 months ago. When I call to check up on progress I am belittled told I am all over the place and I should see my contract which allows them to delay the project pretty much as long as they would like. I have had to have an attorney step in and intervene and hopefully get these issues resolved. Be wary . They will quote you low and treat you like garbage .

Matt the owner likes facts, well here are some. We have been trying to get our pool finished for almost 18 months. Finally, in December they signed a notarized document committing to completing the pool by 1/26/2018 - still not done. They send emails telling us they are coming out, they send emails saying Matt is coming out - they don't. We still have a pool that is in serious need of repair. They committed to "all pool decking/pavers will be repaired" per the signed agreement and they now have decided on their own that only 25 new pavers will be used. The have not even dealt with the issue of cuts into our coping, their awful tile guy used a saw to cut into the bricks while they were on top of the coping and now we have cuts into our coping. We still have trash all over our backyard although line 2 of the agreement is "all trash will be removed from the site (pool & deck related only)." I do not know how much Christopher Barrass supervises Matt (his brother), although Christopher is the licensee of the company; I know if it is anything like the supervision the workers have when they come here, it is none. The best part is when you do complain, you get an email like this back from them: "There are people that are starving all over the world, people are being beheaded, children are being diagnosed with cancer & your worried about your custom swimming pool."

Theses people are thieves and crooks! The owner Matt brass is rude and obnoxious! He will try to rip you off! Do not use them unless you have a year to wait around for them to build a pool and want to spend extra money in legal fees!!! They started my pool after 6 months from the date of signing the contract, then they send me an addendum to the contract wanting an extra $20,000 extra for excavation time. Once I refused they walked off the job, not finishing my pool and leaving a gaping hole in my back yard after collecting 70% of the original contracted price!!!! They also threatened to put a lean in my house... Legal proceedings to come!

Doris

Our situation with RCP is very similar to the other reviews. This company is totally disrespectful to their client's needs and the harm caused. The owner has a horrible temper and his responses are always to intimidate, his way of responding is with the intent to deceive. Not to mention the ridiculous extra expenses charged above what was initially quoted. We signed our contract on 8/17/2021 and still waiting on plaster, decking, and equipment. On 8/17/2023 we received an email stating that in approximately 10 days "weather permitting" they would continue and as of today they do not reply to emails or text messages. Once they see that there has been some time that they haven't shown up, they start with the same emails full of excuses that are no longer valid, COVID-19, shortage of personnel, shortage of materials, weather, etc. Our home is located within a new construction, It is incredible how since the time that we started the business with this company a whole community of 152 homes (my home was home 23) were completely built 50% of them with new pools, but RCP has not been able to finish our pool. The performance of RCP has deteriorated to a level that is no longer acceptable or tolerable. This poor performance issue has resulted in many problems. Despite having already expressed our concerns to RCP regarding these performance issues, there has not been any improvement. We have encountered issues such as lawn damage because our sprinklers have been off for almost one year, clogged-up rotten water has caused an infestation of insects and reptiles, and neighbors constantly complaining. There needs to be immediate and considerable improvement on RCP in the areas described above. We have been copying and relating all information on the project to our attorney. We are considering that if we do not get a date of continuation on our pool within one week we will proceed to report the issue to the state attorney's office and my attorney will proceed with legal action

We are writing to report many unethical practices and situations having taken place by our contracted pool company Right Choice Pools located at 37 NE First Terr, Unit C Deerfield Beach, FL 33441 On June 3, 2020 we went into written contract with RCP to build our pool. Both Mr. ******* and his wife were eager for us to sign and quite nice and what seemed to be decent individuals at the time of signing. ******* for simply asking questions regarding our project which is completely unethical, unprofessional and completely uncalled for. We were told to provide them portions of payments whenever they came on site to do work and they never completed what was to be done for those portions of payments in its entirety. Workers damaged our property. Our newly painted exterior was left with marks, greasy/muddy hand prints and dirt, our neighbors yard was destroyed, our gutters hit and damaged by their workers negligence and trash left on our property, all this was brought up to Mr ******* who stated that they are not liable for damages made to our property by their workers. ******* (owner) never once set foot back at our property to go over necessary discussions re the project. Project was delayed and not complete until October of 2021 Once the pool was finished there was no instruction provided other than to brush the pool every day for 30 days. We were not instructed on how to operate the pool system. Another company had to walk us through how to adjust settings on the pool and have things run efficiently.

This is the worst experience I have ever had with any kind of construction or repair project. I signed a contract in November of 2021, and of this date August 12, 2023 my pool is along way from completion. The company blames all delays on weather. So we are in our 20th month and we are delayed because of weather? How ridiculous. RCP did not show up to do any work on site for months. No one has worked in over 90 days. They have serious manpower issues. Also I thought the contract price meant something. I have paid thousands of dollars for "extras"- like $4,450 to remove fill, $1,900 for gravel and sand. Really that is extra???? They did not know they would need that? My entire backyard is dirt and weeds. The company name should be "WRONG CHOICE POOLS".

Kathleen

Sitting here on a hot sunny Florida day and we STILL have no pool to swim in for a project that began November 2020. We failed inspection last week for a light that wasn't working and we were unaware of. The contract workers told the city inspector the light would be fixed in 10 minutes which turned out to be 2 hours. We were then asked by Right Choice worker "do you know which light isn't working?" My response "No one told us anything. Thats your job to figure out". Again, this process is taking WAY too long and we're very unhappy with the service and outcome thus far of our yard. Right choice will definitely NOT get anymore referrals from us. We referred a neighbor who is now nervous and wishes she can cancel her contract. Turns out she will lose way more than what she put out.
